Sauteed Cabbage

If you’re looking to lighten up your St. Paddy’s day menu, this sauteed cabbage is a great addition! It’s very easy to prepare and is great for busy weeknights.

Sauteed Cabbage – 6 servings 

Ingredients:

    • 1 small head white cabbage (about 2.5 lbs), shredded thin
    • 1 large sweet onion, sliced
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 2 tbsp olive oil
    • ½ tsp salt
    • ¼ tsp ground black pepper
    • ½ tbsp apple cider vinegar
    • 1 tsp dried thyme
    • *Optional ½ tsp Caraway seeds

    Directions

    1. Using a large knife, shred the cabbage fairly thin. Slice onion to about the same size.
    2. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a large sauté pan over medium high heat. Add onion and cook 2 minutes, or until soft. Add in garlic and cabbage. Cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the cabbage is tender and begins to brown.
    3. Season with salt and pepper, thyme, and carraway if desired. Drizzle over apple cider vinegar and stir to combine!
