If you’re looking to lighten up your St. Paddy’s day menu, this sauteed cabbage is a great addition! It’s very easy to prepare and is great for busy weeknights.
Sauteed Cabbage – 6 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 small head white cabbage (about 2.5 lbs), shredded thin
- 1 large sweet onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp ground black pepper
- ½ tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- *Optional ½ tsp Caraway seeds
Directions
- Using a large knife, shred the cabbage fairly thin. Slice onion to about the same size.
- Heat 2 tbsp oil in a large sauté pan over medium high heat. Add onion and cook 2 minutes, or until soft. Add in garlic and cabbage. Cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the cabbage is tender and begins to brown.
- Season with salt and pepper, thyme, and carraway if desired. Drizzle over apple cider vinegar and stir to combine!
