Sauteed Cabbage

It's barbeque season! Turkey is a great lean alternative to beef, just make sure you're looking for extra lean, or 97% lean turkey in the grocery store. Using a lettuce wrap instead of a bun is also a great way to reduce carbs and up your veggie intake for the day.

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs extra lean ground turkey
  • ½ cup bread crumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced fine or grated
  • ½ cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1 10 oz box frozen spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
  • 1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground pepper

*Lettuce for wraps, tomato, onion, and condiments as desired

Directions

  1. Remove frozen spinach from package, squeeze out moisture until it is very dry. Roughly
  2. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients and mix until fully combined.
  3. Form into 8 – 4 oz patties. Transfer to fridge and allow to set for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Heat a grill over high heat for 10 minutes.
  5. Transfer patties to grill and cook for 5-8 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.
  6. Serve on a whole wheat bun, or in a lettuce wrap with toppings and condiments of choice.
