Bariatric Recipes
As we look for simple, refreshing ways to support our nutrition goals, this Ribbon Carrot Sesame Salad is a bright, bariatric-friendly option that works perfectly as a light side dish or snack. With just a few everyday ingredients and only 10 minutes of prep, this recipe is proof that eating well after bariatric surgery can be both easy and enjoyable—without feeling heavy or complicated.
Carrots are the star of this dish, providing a naturally crisp texture along with beta-carotene, which supports eye health and immune function. Shaving them into ribbons makes them easier to eat and helps them absorb the light sesame-lime dressing for maximum flavor in every bite.
The simple dressing—made with sesame oil, rice vinegar, soy sauce, honey, and lime juice—adds bold flavor without relying on heavy ingredients. Sesame seeds bring a small boost of healthy fats, which can help with satisfaction while still keeping the dish light and portion-friendly.

Because this salad is naturally low in volume but high in flavor, it’s a great option for mindful eating and balanced portions, two important habits for long-term success after bariatric surgery. It also comes together quickly, making it ideal for busy days, meal prep, or when you want something fresh without much effort.
This Ribbon Carrot Sesame Salad is a reminder that simple ingredients can still feel exciting, nourishing, and satisfying!
