
Moroccan food is known for being bright and flavorful with different spices, textures, and Mediterranean ingredients. If you’re looking to try a little bit of their culture these meatballs are the perfect start! They’re quick to make for an easy weeknight dinner and the leftovers are even better!
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground chicken (or sub ground turkey)
- ¼ cup bread crumbs
- 1 large egg, whisked
- 1 clove garlic minced
- ¼ cup cilantro, chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp ground pepper
- ½ tsp cumin
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp ground ginger
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
Lemon Yogurt Sauce:
- ¼ cup plain non-fat Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- ½ tsp honey
Directions
- Preheat oven to 425 F
- Combine all ingredients in a large bowl, mix until just combined.
- Form into evenly sized balls and place on a parchment lined baking sheet
- Bake in oven for 20 minutes, or until cooked through and browned.
- In a small bowl, mix together yogurt sauce ingredients.
- Serve meatballs with a whole grain of choice and steamed vegetables on the side. Drizzle yogurt sauce over meatballs before serving.
