Celebrate Success - Aby

Celebrate Brand Ambassador Aby had RNY surgery this past June. We caught up with her 90 days post-op to see how life has changed and what Celebrate products she found most helpful during that time. We are excited to see Aby is already feeling the positive benefits of her decision and we Celebrate her Success!

Why did you choose to have surgery?

Aby: My husband and I wish to have a family someday. I knew with my existing pains and health issues (which include being pre-diabetic and having high blood pressure), I’d be unable to have a safe pregnancy at my highest weight of 448 lbs. I’ve struggled with up and down weight since I was a size 16 my senior year of high school. My mom had the same surgery 16 years ago and had a lot of success with it. I knew if I wanted a fair shot at a healthy pregnancy someday, I needed to make a major lifestyle change.

What Celebrate products have been your go-tos and how have they benefited your journey so far?

Aby: I absolutely love taking the Iron 45 plus Vitamin C cherry iron soft chews. It’s my favorite vitamin to take, and it helps me stay healthy and not experience any deficiencies as a result of low iron after bariatric surgery, etc. I also really love my Celebrate BlenderBottle®  for protein shakes. 

How was Celebrate involved in your pre-surgery phase, as well as the different stages post-op?

Aby:   I loved being able to try the vitamin samples pre-surgery and be prepared for bariatric surgery by ordering my vitamins ahead of the big day. I also really enjoyed the liquid meal replacements on days during pre-op where I just wasn’t feeling a meal but knew I needed to keep my protein and hydration up. My favorite flavor was the Celebrate High Protein Meal Replacement Shakes in Deep Chocolate. 

What are some of your favorite NSV's (non-scale victories)?

Aby: My feet and back don’t hurt walking short distances. When I wake up in the morning, there’s no more weird tingling or numbness in my feet. Most importantly, I cut my blood pressure medicine in half! It was also really rewarding to walk into a clothing store and be able to shop the racks with more selections than I’ve ever been used to.
