Nothing external you can take actually helps your hair and nails grow, it is genetic. That being said if you are very deprived of certain vitamins as if you were anorexic or bulimic it can slow their growth. Bariatric surgery can mimic those conditions in a way if you are not faithful about getting all of the vitamins you need. I find that taking these vitamins added just the boost to the multivitamin that I needed to stop getting some of my blood tests back as low on some vitamins and my hair loss finally decreased. I appreciate having the option to add these on to the multivitamin and see the improvement after a few months of taking them. The blood test improvement showed in a month, the physical improvement showed in three months. I now have added them to my regular vitamin regimen.
